On this hated day

July 7, 2011 By Finn Leave a Comment

Study any canonical text long enough, be it religious or law, and you’ll find something credible to support your position.

For every…

“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.”

– Lao Tzu

There’s a…

“Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are.”

– Chinese Proverb

Don’t hold it all in…

“Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.”

– Oprah Winfrey

Because, you know…

“Hanging onto resentment is letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head.”

– Ann Landers

Take your time…

“Change is never easy, you fight to hold on, and you fight to let go.”

– The Wonder Years

Be humble…

“The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter.”

– Mark Twain

Do yourself a favor…

“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.”

– James Dean

And for God’s sake…

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

– Dr. Seuss

If you’re like me…

“Letting your mind play is the best way to solve problems.”

– Bill Watterson

“It’s the battles waged that count…” bleh bleh

“He who knows when he can fight and when he cannot, will be victorious.”

– Sun Tzu

“It’s a marathon, not a sprint…” gag hack

“All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.”

– Sun Tzu

So on the 14th anniversary of this hated day, I do my best to put all the supporting arguments together and see how fast I can run through the day. Sit one out and rest up for tomorrow.

Accept the defeat and move on.
